Self-reported surveys in this cross-sectional study measured sociodemographic factors, clinical characteristics, and patient-reported constructs, encompassing coping, resilience, post-traumatic growth, anxiety, and depression. The survivorship periods were segmented into early (1 year), mid (ranging from 1 to 5 years), late (spanning 5 to 10 years), and advanced (exceeding 10 years). Using both univariate and multivariable logistic and linear regression models, the influence of factors on patient-reported concepts was assessed.
Among 191 adult LT survivors, the median time since the event was 77 years (IQR 31-144), and the median age at diagnosis was 63 years (range 28-83); a substantial proportion were male (64.2%) and Caucasian (84.0%). Elevated PTG levels were observed more prominently in the early survivorship phase (850%) than in the late survivorship phase (152%). High trait resilience was indicated by 33% of survivors, a factor statistically associated with their higher incomes. Patients with both prolonged LT hospitalizations and late survivorship stages exhibited a diminished capacity for resilience. A substantial proportion, roughly 25%, of survivors experienced clinically significant anxiety and depression; this was particularly common among early survivors and females with pre-transplant mental health issues.
